Being the middle of Pennsylvania, it's not surprising that there are a lot of country music lovers in town. Keith's concert is drawing fans from all over the state though, Bernie Punt, marketing manager for the Bryce Jordan Center, said.
"The very promoter that booked this for us ... a few years ago labeled us as the 'Nashville of the North,' " Punt said.
Although Keith released his latest album, Shock'n Y'all, in November, the performance will highlight songs from throughout his 11-year career.
"It's a bunch of everything," Keith's publicist Elaine Shock said.
To date, Keith has released 16 songs that have hit No. 1 status.
Twelve of those chart-toppers were self-written.
Even though the show is scheduled on the most romantic holiday of the year, Shock does not think this will mean anything drastic for the performance.
Either way, she expects it to be impressive.
"It's a big show," Shock said, mentioning pyrotechnics and the inclusion of most of Keith's band members.
If there is one thing Keith is known for, it's putting on a good show.
Jess Garey, a student at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn., and a major Keith fan, has seen him perform live before.
"He has a lot of energy on stage," Garey said. "He really performs his heart out."
Saturday night will mark Keith's second time at the Jordan Center. However, recent hits have made his career skyrocket since his first State College show in the fall of 2002.
"He's much more popular than he was the first time he was here," Punt said.
Keith is world famous for his pop-country catchy melodies and humorous lyrics.
He's notorious for breaking into less stereotypically country grounds, as in his song about smoking weed with Willie Nelson, and going to extremes, as in his dramatically redneck song, "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue."
Keith was named the Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year for 2003 and has accumulated several multi-platinum albums.
Shelton is less well known than Keith is, but with a couple of big hits, including "Austin" and "Baby," he is steadily making a name for himself in a competitive country scene.
