M. Swimming at Ohio State, 5 p.m. today at Columbus, Ohio

Both the Penn State and Ohio State men's swimming and diving teams will finish their dual meet seasons today, while both look ahead to the Big Ten championships three weeks away.

The Nittany Lions (3-6) have faced a challenging schedule and feel that it will pay off once they face competition in one of the nation's toughest swimming and diving conferences.

"We're definitely getting ready for the end of the season," senior Todd Minnier said. "We're looking good."

The players realize they still have the final meet.

Though a win would be nice, Penn State swimming and diving coach Bill Dorenkott said that competing hard in the water is the most important thing for the team to accomplish this weekend.

"How we compete is what I really want to see," Dorenkott said. "If we swim smart and aggressively, we should be ready for Big Tens."

The Buckeyes (6-1), meanwhile, have some things to work on.

"We have a young team and we only have two seniors," Ohio State men's swimming coach Bill Wadley said. "There are tons of areas to improve on, like our starts and turns, endurance, and speed."

Wadley expects both teams to come out racing strong since it's the last meet of the season.

"We just want to perform well," Wadley said. "Only one team can win, so I'm sure it'll be a close meet."
