Throughout my three years spent at the University Park campus, I have experienced the best and worst of living in off-campus apartments. From spotless entrances to vomit-strewn elevators, very little surprises me. It is sad that students must live under these conditions, but who is to blame? Shouldn't realtors care what their building looks like? Shouldn't they at least make an effort to clean common areas?
Then again, it must get frustrating to clean up after drunk college students time and again. I understand how much fun it can be to get drunk and party all night, but maybe we can curb the elevator urination.
To get respect from realtors, students must in turn respect the realtors. There are those few messy people who are ruining it for others, and that is why the realtors feel they can take advantage.
You know what I would do if I saw one of my neighbors urinating in the hallway? I would do what I did when I was a kid -- tell on them.
