While I understand the outrage over Janet Jackson's revealing moment during the Super Bowl halftime show, there is not enough outrage over another display of stupidity during that show: Kid Rock wearing the American flag as a poncho. Though he may not have intended any harm, it was a slap in the face to those who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces.

Soldiers are dying almost every day in Iraq in the name of that flag -- the same flag that New York City firefighters raised at ground zero. The same flag that the Marines planted on Iwo Jima. The same flag that Neil Armstrong planted on the moon.

Such an inspiring symbol doesn't deserve to be worn as a poncho by a guy singing about crackheads and prostitutes.
