I woke up yesterday to another little gift from the State College skies. After repeatedly checking for a delay, I made the 40-minute trek to my 8 a.m. class. My classmates and I sat through 30 minutes of class before someone from the hall interrupted to inform us that school was canceled. Although I immediately wanted to jump from my seat and hug the person, I couldn't help but think that there has to be a better way.
Surely, mighty Penn State could find some technology better than word-of-mouth to broadcast the news to its students and faculty. Or perhaps they could even make a decision before the masses trudge to class.
Imagine that.
Remember, Penn State, not all of us can simply fall out of our dorm rooms and into class. Many of us have to walk or drive to school.
If I were to practice the same logic, organizational skills and common sense as Penn State in my classes or job, I doubt if I would be around too long.
