A man pointed a handgun at a guest of the Days Inn Penn State, 240 S. Pugh St., early yesterday morning, the State College Police Department said.

Police said two men knocked on the door of a third-floor room at about 4 a.m. When the guest answered the door, the men asked for a girl named Nicky. The guest told the men they had the wrong room. One of the men then pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the guest. The guest was then able to close the door and call police. The two men exited the hotel on foot through a rear door.

No one by the name Nicky was registered at the Days Inn, police said.

There are no suspects in the case, but police have descriptions of the two men. One is a white man, 20 to 25 years old. He was wearing dark shoes or boots, possibly jeans, a hooded sweatshirt and a dark colored winter jacket.

The second is also a white man, 20 to 25 years old. He was wearing white shoes or sneakers, baggy pants, possibly jeans, a medium-length, dark winter coat, a baseball hat and had medium-length dark hair.
