'Superhero' professors slack on making syllabi
I am writing in response to Sydney Aboul-Hosn's letter ("Editorial unfairly places burden on professors," Jan. 23) in Friday's Daily Collegian. Aboul-Hosn must have a pretty busy schedule. She said that she, along with other faculty members, cannot make her class syllabi ahead of time because of "end-of-semester obligations." Wow. The school gets a three-week vacation for winter break and about a four-month vacation at the end of the year. To put together a syllabus for a class must take a more time than I had expected. My dad is a graduate professor at Villanova University. Even he is able to post his syllabus on the Internet ahead of time so that students know what books they need to get. I guess Penn State professors must be superheroes out saving the world on their breaks. Eric Boseman
