Lions need court help; trampoline a crowd hit
After watching the men's basketball team get outplayed by the Michigan Wolverines this weekend, I have put together a few things to improve the team and the time fans have at games. 1. Teach Jan Jagla some fundamentals. He moves pretty swiftly for a 7-footer, but he needs to learn how to use his size to play defense -- especially if he is the Lions' go-to-guy. 2. It seemed like the Lions were beaten by a team that was more athletic, quicker and stronger than they were. However, the game was close, and there was some poor play calling late in the game. You can't be running out the clock with 2:30 left in the game and you're down by 10. 3. Get rid of DJ Shizzy Claws (or whatever the name was). His looped hip-hop tribal beats were putting me to sleep, thus silencing the pep band and cheerleaders. We want to clap and dance along with the band. No one wants to bump and grind during timeouts. 4. The trampoline guys are freaking awesome! Jonathan McVerry
