Professors get different privilege than students

I am an Altoona transfer student and I have been experiencing great difficulties in adjusting to the transition from Altoona to University Park campus. The weather in State College is extremely bad and the roads are very dangerous. I don't understand why just 45 miles away, the Altoona campus is closed to protect the safety of the students, faculty and staff at that campus, while University Park only receives a two-hour delay. Can you please explain the reasoning behind this decision?

Put yourself, Penn State, in the shoes of the off-campus students and commuting faculty, staff and students. Professors who feel they cannot safely get to campus cancel classes. However, students do not get these same rights and are expected to be able to make it to class. Is this really feasible? I feel that this is a reoccurring problem, and it should be handled much differently than it is being handled right now.

All I can say is, now more than ever, we need answers.
