PSU Vice Provost for IT pleads guilty for DUI

Penn State Vice Provost for Information Technology James Gary Augustson pleaded guilty Monday to a charge of driving under the influence.

He is set to enter Centre County's accelerated rehabilitation disposition program.

According to State College Police Department documents, Augustson's charge comes from his involvement in a car accident while leaving a Penn State football game in the fall. Augustson was traveling east on Route 322 from the Nittany Lion Inn, 200 W. Park Ave.

On the 1500 block of Atherton Street, Augustson's vehicle collided with another motor vehicle that was traveling in the same direction in right lane. At the time of the incident, police reported that Augustson's blood alcohol content level was .138.
