Spanier must lead PSU during difficult times
When will President Graham Spanier assume responsibility for the current state of Penn State? Over the past year, the once proud staple of the university, the football team, has been plagued with headlines of disgraceful on- and off-the-field performances. The once friendly and safe confines of the State College area can now be categorized as dangerous and unsafe. The All American Rathskellar, arguably the most notable and nostalgic bar in State College, is now dealing with scandal. And during this buildup of negative public relations, Spanier has been busy negotiating the Napster deal, which is of relatively little importance considering what has transpired recently. Spanier needs to step up to the plate and face these issues. Penn State and State College need leadership to persevere through the troubles that have been so thoroughly documented in the media. Spanier needs to be this leader. President Spanier, I challenge you to act on these issues and produce change. Bryan Dunn
