Police Log

Assault: A State College Police Department officer was assaulted by a suspect he was trying to arrest at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday on the 100 block of West College Avenue. Charges were filed with District Justice Thomas Jordan, but police did not release further information.

Theft: A cellular phone, car keys and an unknown amount of cash were reported stolen from a woman's purse at about 3 a.m. Sunday from 328 E. Foster Ave., the State College Police Department said. Value of the items was unknown, police said.

Theft: A mixer and a vacuum were reported stolen from Kaufmann's Department Store, 2900 E. College Ave., at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday, the State College Police Department said. Police said the items were valued at about $695. Police have several suspects and the investigation is continuing.

Vandalism: An unknown individual pulled the fire alarm and then damaged the unit at about 2 a.m. Sunday at 636 E. College Ave., the State College Police Department said. Value of the damage was unknown, police said.

Vandalism: Several chairs were reported damaged at about 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Fisher Hall, Penn State University Police said.

The incident occurred between 2 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Saturday, and the damage is valued at about $600, police said.

State College police are located at 243 S. Allen St. in the Municipal Building.

University police are located in the Eisenhower Parking Garage on campus.
