Touted Ursuline High School quarterback Daryll Clark delayed announcing his college decision after originally planning to commit to a football program yesterday. Despite not officially giving a verbal commitment to the Nittany Lions, Clark stated that Penn State still remains his favorite, as it has been for much of his recruitment.
"I want to go to Penn State," Clark said. "There's just been a slight change and nothing will be official until Monday, or until further notice. I'm going to tell my coach and the news media and that's about it when I do make the decision. That's why I'm not doing it [Thursday]. This is where I am right now."
Ursuline High School football coach Dan Murphy was unavailable for comment when The Daily Collegian attempted to contact him yesterday afternoon; however, Geoff Rushton of Blue-White Illustrated reported Murphy confirmed Clark's decision would not be announced as originally scheduled.
Clark boasts offers from some of the top college football programs including Nebraska, West Virginia, Bowling Green and the Lions.
The national recruiting service Rivals.com ranked Clark among the top-25 dual-threat quarterbacks in America in addition to giving him a three-star ranking.
