Many students received an e-mail message yesterday telling them they were receiving special services from Information Technology Services (ITS) which expire Feb. 11.
Yesterday afternoon, ITS sent another e-mail message explaining that the original message was an error.
Services listed as expiring included Penn State e-mail accounts and personal student Web sites, among others.
A representative of ITS said the office was overwhelmed with students contacting them about the email message and could not comment further.
ITS asks that students do not contact them through telephone or by sending an e-mail message since they are being inundated with students' concerns.
