Although previously announced that classrooms in the new Information Sciences and Technology (IST) Building would be available in the beginning of this semester, officials say they will not be in use until the first week of February, at the latest.
"We had delays in getting classrooms ready," Joe Lambert, IST senior associate dean, said. "We didn't get access until late last week."
Paul Ruskin, Office of Physical Plant spokesman, said the building was completed on time, and that he was not aware of any problems. "Our goal is to move classes [to the IST building] as soon as possible," Lambert said.
Currently, IST classes are being held in Boucke, Cedar and Willard buildings. Lambert said the Office of the Registrar would not allow the IST Building's classrooms to be scheduled in case of an unfavorable scenario.
Officials from Computer Science and Engineering, also located in the IST building, were not available for comment.
