Got something to say?

Collegian's editorial opinion is determined by its Board of Opinion, with the editor holding final responsibility.

The Daily Collegian is looking for anyone with an interest in politics, social concerns, humor or issues affecting Penn State students who would like to address those issues in the form of columns or editorial cartoons for the Opinion page.

Columnists are responsible for about 800 words on a weekly basis. The Collegian is looking for those with an interest in writing as well as the ability to address issues in an engaging manner. Applicants should expect to have column topics approved by the Opinion page editor.

Editorial cartoonists take Penn State, State College and world issues and portray them in a fresh and humorous way. They should be ready to bring their own ideas to the paper as well as respond to those of the Collegian Board of Opinion.

If you are a Penn State student interested in either of these two positions, pick up an application at the Collegian offices, located in the James Building, 123 S. Burrowes St.

Applications will be accepted from now until 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19.

If you have questions regarding the application process, please contact Opinion Page Editor Mike Walbert at 865-1828 or send him an e-mail at collegianletters@psu.edu.
