Police Log

Explosion: Someone reported an explosion near Hallowell Building at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, Penn State University Police said. Emergency personnel found that a smoldering electrical fire had blown off a manhole cover near the building. The incident did not cause any damage above ground, but police said it is unknown whether any underground damage occurred.

Theft: A student reported at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday that an unknown individual entered his unlocked dorm room in Geary Hall and stole about $2,000 worth of electrical equipment, Penn State University Police said. The incident took place between 6:20 and 6:30 p.m.



In case of an emergency, on or off campus, dial 911. For business and nonemergency calls, call the State College Police Department at 234-7150 and Penn State Police Services at 863-1111.

State College police are located at 243 S. Allen St. in the Municipal Building.

University police are located in the Eisenhower Parking Garage on campus.
