At Tuesday's meeting, the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) Senate voted to override USG President Ian Rosenberger's veto of the election code, which sets the guidelines for USG elections in the spring.
The code now includes an $800 spending cap for executive tickets in the 2004 election and no public polling place in the HUB-Robeson Center.
Rosenberger vetoed the election code because he believes a public polling place is necessary to get students to vote.
The Senate also appointed Tim Dorman as head elections commissioner. He also said a public polling place is important. "By not providing a public polling place, it's implying a sense of apathy among your organization," he said at the meeting.
Dorman ran for USG president last year, which gave him "a unique perspective on the importance of fairness in an election," he told senators. He is also the president of the Blue & White Society.
