The next time members and active supporters of the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) and other student groups question why so many of their fellow students show little or no interest in their activities, they need look no further than the most recent of a long history of events ("Pictures lead to call for resignations," Dec. 5). Once again, USG and its cadre of members and groups are involved in an asinine attempt to defame the opposition instead of actually participating in activities that the student body will see as productive.
Whether it's crying foul of an election scandal simply because they lost, airing the dirty laundry of a fellow member in an attempt to tarnish his name, or attempting to slander an opposing group, USG and all involved continue to demonstrate their vindictive antics while hammering their fists at the "injustices" brought upon them.
If you want to get the attention of the student body, do something worthwhile with your time and focus your attention on issues that actually relate to the student body. Stop focusing all of your energy on your pathetic attempts at political infighting.
I will admit that you actually do one thing very well. You do a wonderful job of imitating the spiteful actions we see taking place so often in our real government settings. Unfortunately, these are the wrong actions you should be aspiring to emulate.
