Finally, some names have been placed with faces.

For 18 Penn State football verbal commitments, this weekend marked their official visit to Happy Valley which allowed the high school stars to get better acclimated with each other and the Nittany Lions' program.

Players arrived Friday despite the heavy snowstorm and stayed the weekend with their respective hosts, most of whom were either current freshmen or redshirt freshmen on the Penn State football team that played the same position.

Top-ranked offensive lineman Greg Harrison was hosted by freshman Joel Holler.

So how did everything work out?

"It was a really good weekend," Harrison said. "The best part was just hanging out with the guys and getting to know them better."

The weather was a factor for some verbals that were supposed to be in attendance over the weekend.

Jordan Lyons, a quarterback recruit from Atlanta, did not make the scheduled trip because his connecting flight from Philadelphia to State College was canceled as a result of the snowstorm that hit most of the northeast late last week.

One other undecided prospect, Ohio quarterback Daryll Clark, was able to make the trip to State College from his hometown of Youngstown. While he did not commit to play for the Nittany Lions over the weekend, Harrison said he enjoyed getting to know Clark better.

"He's a really good kid, I had met him a couple times before," Harrison said. "I have a good feeling about him."

As for a future planned meeting with the class of 2008, Harrison said that there was not one in the works as of yet, but that once he enrolls at Penn State this January along with future teammate Dan Connor, their doors will always be open.

"Me and Dan told them that if any of the guys wanted to come stay at our places anytime, they could," Harrison said.

Both Harrison and Connor registered for classes Friday afternoon, before the start of their official visits and are on schedule to begin their college careers a semester early.
