You know, after a semester on campus, I'm almost positive that The Daily Collegian prints the same Andrew Criado column over and over again. Changing the headline each week is a nice touch, but I still caught on. Each week, the Collegian's opinion page showcases Criado's hateful rhetoric, and after a few months, we've got the message. Criado doesn't like liberals, gays or opinionated professors. He's not nuts about diversity or women's rights. And God forgive you if you've ever listened to a Grateful Dead album. The opinion page of a newspaper is a location to showcase diverging opinions, certainly, and despite the fact that Criado's "opinions" are tired, overplayed and sometimes blatantly inaccurate propaganda touting the conservative party platforms, he has a right to express himself. But I would think that a Collegian columnist would have more than one message to get across. Unless the broken record that is Criado's mind skips to the next track, I suggest that the Collegian do something more useful with its space.
