Centre County Coroner Scott Sayers will hold a press conference at 10:30 a.m. today to release the autopsy results on Penn State student Salvador Peter Serrano.

Serrano died on Oct. 26 after he was allegedly in a confrontation with staff members of a State College bar.

Police found Serrano restrained by a bouncer and unresponsive at 1:47 a.m., and he was pronounced dead an hour later at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

The release of autopsy results has been delayed because Sayers had been waiting on toxicology results before announcing the findings.

Sayers performed a standard autopsy immediately and initially released preliminary results.

He said on Oct. 30 that Serrano's lungs were not as inflated as normal lungs would be at the time of his death.

However, he could not determine whether the lack of oxygen caused his death or was severe enough to cause suffocation, he added.

Sayers said the results of the autopsy showed nothing extraordinary that would lead investigators to any specific cause of death. No one from the State College Police Department or the Office of the District Attorney could be reached for comment.

No one has been charged in connection with the incident.

According to court documents, the incident that preceded Serrano's death began on the night of Oct. 26 when he and his fiancée, Brooke Morgan, were walking down Calder Way with another couple.

One of Serrano's friends stopped in the gravel parking lot behind the All American Rathskeller, 108 S. Pugh St., to urinate, and the bar's staff members stopped him.

A fight subsequently broke out involving the two couples and four bouncers, court documents said. Serrano and three others were restrained after the fight, and he died shortly thereafter.
