Letter to the Editor
Conservatives' concern dictated by oil interests

I find it incredibly interesting that Andrew Criado can regurgitate his fascist, dogmatic, conservative diatribe for an entire column and back up his fallacious arguments with a single fact ("Mounting evidence proves Iraq's connection to al Qaeda, despite liberals' denials," Nov. 20). A fact that, mind you, was taken from a biased, conservative magazine that is criticized, even by conservatives, for being full of one-sided ramblings and completely devoid of concrete fact. Why, call me crazy, but that sounds exactly like Criado.

The liberals are well aware that Saddam kills his people, owns weapons of mass destruction and defies U.N. resolutions. And we are aware that al Qaeda and Iraq share a hatred for the United States. But the vast majority of the rest of the world shares a hatred for the United States, and conservative warhawks are mostly responsible for that.

Over half the Sept. 11 hijackers were Saudi Arabian, yet we aren't harassing them, because Dub-yah is chummy with their royalty. Sadam has killed and tortured his people since his debut, but he was giving us oil, so our administration didn't care. It's time that Republicans stop peering into Clinton's bedroom window and stop blaming those dang free-thinking liberals for trying to fix a country the conservatives are leading to hell.
