Portion of Garner Street closed after two-car crash

A two-vehicle accident last night confined two individuals in a vehicle and caused emergency personnel to close down a section of Garner Street.

The incident occurred at about 6:15 p.m. Garner Street was closed between Foster and Prospect avenues for about an hour.

Emergency personnel were able to remove the two confined individuals from the scene by about 6:45 p.m.

All three victims involved in the incident were transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center, said Jim Brown, assistant chief of Alpha Fire Company.

State College Police Department officials had no comment about the details of the incident or any pending investigation.

The accident involved two small, four-door sedans. One of the vehicles was dark-colored, and the other was tan.

The two confined victims were in the dark car, Brown said.

The tan vehicle came to rest after the accident in the eastern crosswalk on Fairmount Avenue. The dark vehicle was on the sidewalk corner south of the tan car, with its front bumper resting against a tree.

No witnesses said they saw the accident occur.
