Police offer rewards in Ferguson Twp. thefts

The Ferguson Township Police Department is investigating two unrelated thefts of costly equipment. Rewards are being offered for the return of the items.

A John Deere 140 hydrostatic lawn tractor was stolen from a Scott Lane residence earlier this month, police said.

An unknown person or persons pushed the tractor from the rear of the home and loaded it onto a trailer. The value of the stolen tractor is estimated at more than $5,000.

Ferguson Township police are also investigating the theft of construction tools from a site at 1367 West Gatesburg Road in Ferguson Township between Nov. 7 and Nov. 10.

Among the missing tools removed were a Bostitch air compressor, two pin nailers, one circular saw, and a drill and screw bits. The total value of the stolen items is more than $1,000.

Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to contact the Ferguson Township police at (814) 237-1172. Callers can remain anonymous by calling Centre County Crime Stoppers at 1-877-99-CRIME.

A cash reward is available up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest in each case.
