Collegian Staff Writer

The State College Police Department is investigating three unrelated assaults that occurred this weekend.

A man reported at 4:43 a.m. yesterday that a group of 10 unknown males knocked on the door to his residence on the 900 block of South Allen Street and assaulted him after he opened the door.

Police said the man had a 3-inch laceration above his eye. Emergency medical technicians recommended that he receive stitches, but he refused treatment.

The man told police the group held him down while two of the group members punched him. Police said they have no suspects for the incident.

Another assault occurred early yesterday morning on the 400 block of East Beaver Avenue. Police said four unknown white men assaulted two men. One of the victims appeared to have a broken nose and was treated at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Police said the two victims, one of which was a Penn State student, reported at 2:49 a.m. that four men accosted them for no reason. There are no suspects for the incident.

A man also assaulted another man early Saturday morning at Phi Delta Theta fraternity, 240 N. Burrowes St.

Police said one of the men was treated for a broken nose at Mount Nittany Medical Center. His nose was crooked and bleeding, and his bottom lip was swollen.

Police said the assault, reported at 2:23 a.m., stemmed from an incident that occurred a year ago between the two men. Police added that they have not yet arrested anyone in the assault.

Anyone with information on the assaults is asked to call State College police at 234-7150.
