A driver who failed to stop for a red light struck the driver's side of another car at about 9 a.m. Sunday on East College Avenue.
Robert C. Rayman, 49, and his 8-year-old son were transported to and later released from Mount Nittany Medical Center, formerly known as Centre Community Hospital, for minor injuries.
The State College Police Department said the accident occurred when David Chisnell, 21, ran a light as it was changing from yellow to red. Rayman was stopped on a ramp at the traffic signal waiting to turn left from Route 322 onto East College Avenue's westbound lane. When Rayman's light turned green, he proceeded into the intersection, where Chisnell who was travelling eastbound struck his car.
Chisnell was cited with a red light violation, police said.
