Police Log

Theft: A Penn State student reported the theft of his bookbag Thursday morning from the storage area in the White Building. The estimated value of the stolen items is $680, Penn State Police Services said.

Theft: An unknown person took a laptop from a Mifflin Hall room between noon and 1 p.m. Friday, Penn State Police Services said. The value of the computer is $1,000. Penn State police said the room was unsecured at the time of the incident.

Burglary: A car stereo and DVD player were reported stolen from a car at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday on the 300 block of West Beaver Avenue. Someone broke one of the car's windows to steal the items, the State College Police Department said.

The total value of the items is about $500, police said.

Assault: A man was assaulted at about 1 a.m. Saturday on the 300 block of East Beaver Avenue, the State College Police Department said.

He was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center with a head injury he sustained after someone knocked him to the ground. There are no suspects in the assault, which police said is under investigation.

Assault: A man was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center after suffering an eye laceration he received when someone hit him in the face at 2:42 a.m. yesterday on the 300 block of East College Avenue.

The State College Police Department said they were able to identify a suspect and the case is under investigation.
