The Penn State men's swimming and diving team could not possibly have faced a tougher opening weekend than facing No. 1 Auburn and No. 9 Virginia, and this weekend is almost just as tough.
The No.29 Nittany Lions (0-2) host Texas A&M (1-0) today at 4 p.m. at the Ernest B. McCoy Natatorium for its home opener.
The Aggies men, who are ranked No.15 in the first college Swimming Coaches Association of America Division I poll of the season, are coming off an impressive victory over the Missouri Tigers, when they won 13 of 16 events. Texas A&M's Matt Rose is the current Big 12 Men's Swimmer of the Month.
Texas A&M has finished in the top 25 of every poll since the 1995-96 season.
Things will not get any easier for the Nittany Lions, who also received votes in the poll. They have to get used to playing top-caliber opponents since they will face No. 22 Washington next weekend.
The No. 10 women's team is off until Nov. 14 when it hosts the University of Washington.
