Letter to the Editor
Response to petitioners shows liberals' biases

Yesterday, I saw a perfect example of the fact that liberals only believe in free speech when it serves their own purpose. As I was walking down College Avenue near the Allen Street Gates, I could hear a student shouting at another young man dressed in a suit and tie. Apparently, the well-dressed student was there with a group getting petitions to send to the Supreme Court protesting the Lawrence v. Texas decision that overturned a Texas law prohibiting sodomy.

The student, obviously pro-homosexual, was literally screaming, insisting that the group get off the street or he was going to call the police. The man brought up the fact that they had freedom of speech just like everyone else. The screaming student replied, "Free speech only exists for intelligent people!" I couldn't believe it; another example of the liberal, biased interpretation of "free speech."
