Is it time to start pondering the words "conspiracy theory" when thinking about the poor officiating Penn State has had deal with? As outlandish as it sounds, something is exuding a nauseating aroma in the Big Ten, and the Ohio State game could be the cause for alarm that enthusiasts should debate.
Perhaps the refs feel some ill will toward that old crank that is our coach. Paterno is being a good sport this season. He's not leading a crusade against this unprofessional conduct. I must ask, why not? These problems are not settled, and an attempt to cleanse the system was shot down. What is the deal here?
The Big Ten officiating crew should be more cautious than ever given the criticism, but apparently, it's old hat this season. Penn State should never have to deal with this.
If nothing happens with the officiating this off-season, Penn State should become receptive to other ideas for its football industry. Hey, the Big East needs a powerhouse, maybe they'd take us with open arms.
