Jeff Hantz, who is currently competing at the World Wheelchair games in New Zealand, won the bronze metal in the javelin.

Hantz left State College last Thursday and will not return until Nov. 1.

He has already secured one metal around his neck.

Hantz's strongest event going into the competition was supposed to be the discus, which he has yet to compete in.

Hantz is attempting to earn a spot on the 2004 U.S. Paralympic Team, which will take part in the Paralympic Games to be held in Athens, Greece.
