This is in response to James Bascom's letter ("Coming Out Day rally does not belong at PSU," Oct. 20). I am a supporter of free speech, and I have personally used the Collegian many times to voice my opinion. But, I would at least hope that the next time you write a letter to The Daily Collegian, you can form an actual argument for your stance.

Without even taking into consideration my own opinion on the issue, I can honestly say that your comparison of homosexuality to child abuse and terrorism borders on the most ridiculous and absurd comment I've ever seen in The Daily Collegian, and that's saying a lot.

It's truly a disservice to anyone affected by child abuse, terrorism or homosexuality. In the future, attempt to develop a real analogy and people may start to take you more seriously.
