Letter to the Editor
Collegian unbalanced on Republican issues

I am writing this letter in response to the column written by Kris Ankarlo ("Democratic candidates realize social problems not separate from economic policy," Oct. 13). Specifically, I am responding to the first three paragraphs of his column.

Those three paragraphs, ending with a referral to the Bush administration as "the Evil Empire," were all I needed to read to realize that this was another pile of liberal baloney being shoveled into the pages of "the students' paper." Ankarlo predictably goes on to call Republicans, in this order: anti-gay, sexist, racist and heartless. He then proceeds to blame them for practically every problem the nation currently faces. Nearly every column about politics is the same garbage about how Republicans are like a bad James Bond villain, and are trying to take over the world. The "students' paper" doesn't give the Republicans at this university anything resembling equal coverage.
