Lions' Weimer named Big Ten Player of week

Sophomore forward Tiffany Weimer (North Haven, Conn.) snagged back-to-back Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors after tallying three goals in two Big Ten road wins for the Lions.

Weimer is now averaging a conference-leading 1.43 goals per game in Big Ten play, has scored at least one goal vs. every team in the conference the Lions have met, and has an eight-game scoring streak heading into the last regular season homestand of the year this weekend.

Weimer earned conference player of the week and Soccer Buzz Elite Team of the Week last week for her four-goal weekend and followed it up with another three goals this past weekend.

Weimer's 1.43 goals per game and 3.14 points per game averages not only lead the conference, but are double the totals of the next closest player.

Weimer was last year's Big Ten Rookie of the Year, and has scored a point in all but one of the Nittany Lions' games this season.

Penn State (12-2-2) hosts Minnesota and Wisconsin this weekend and is 6-1 in Big Ten play.
