Towing often excessive, reveals lack of reason

I used to think of tow-truck drivers as noble heroes who would come to the rescue of a broken down car and its stranded passengers. Since moving to State College, my high opinion of tow-truck drivers has dropped significantly. When I would once have felt relief in seeing an approaching tow-truck, I now become nervous and wonder if they plan to steal my car and hold it for ransom. These once great public servants are quickly turning into a public nuisance. It is understandable that people who paid for parking spots deserve to have them protected, but the towing of a person's car is often completely unnecessary and shows just how little compassion the towing companies have.
