Pedestrians injured in 2 separate accidents

Two separate weekend accidents left pedestrians with minor injuries.

Penn State student Nathan Gentzel told police a dark-colored car hit him in the right leg and side at about 3 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Beaver Avenue and South Garner Street.

After the car left the scene of the accident, Gentzel reported the incident to police and complained of pain in his left knee.

The State College Police Department was able to identify and contact the vehicle's driver, who said he left the scene thinking Gentzel was uninjured.

While charges have yet to be filed, the driver is expected to receive a citation, police said.

In a separate accident, two children received minor cuts and abrasions after being struck by a car at about 7:30 a.m. Friday on Easterly Parkway. They received treatment at Centre Community Hospital, police said.
