A 17-year-old girl reported an unknown suspect tried to remove her clothes at about 9 p.m. Friday in downtown State College -- at least the fourth sexual assault since late August.
The victim was looking for her boyfriend after a State College Area High School football game when a man tried to remove her shirt and pants in the south parking lot of the Fraser Street post office near the Central Parklet.
She was able to flee the scene and reported the incident to a police officer covering the high school football game at Memorial Field.
The State College Police Department is investigating the incident. Police describe the suspect as a black man, about 19 years old and 6 feet 2 inches tall with a stocky build. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt with a dark logo on the front, dark jeans, white sneakers, a light blue scarf and a large, silver watch on his left wrist.
Friday's sexual assault follows a rash of stranger assaults and assault attempts since this summer.
