Letter to the Editor
Copyright infringement just as wrong as theft

I am writing in response to Kurt Greib's letter ("Downloading not theft, but rather civil dispute," Sept. 22) enumerating the distinction between theft and copyright infringement. While Mr. Greib is completely correct in the letter of the law and the distinction between the two, this kind of semantics and dodging of responsibility is exactly the issue that I wrote about in my original letter. It is a moral and intellectual theft that is repeated every day, by hundreds upon thousands of people. It is time that people take responsibility for their actions and quit bickering over the distinction of exactly how they violated the law.
