Letter to the Editor
Intolerance does not belong in today's world

This is in response to James Bascom's letter ("Gay partner benefits not right for Penn State," Sept. 15).

I was surprised that such an ignorant person would have the audacity to want their extremely narrow-minded views in print. James, since you obviously do not have the intelligence to question the Bible, I am assuming that you also support slavery and believe that women are made to serve men. Of course you do, because the Bible does.

I cannot believe with all that is going on in the world you need to write a letter because you are so concerned about a group of people getting benefits that they have been denied for so long.

I hope that since you just started your freshman year, you meet people who teach you to be more open-minded and compassionate. It would be such a shame if you left college with these same ridiculous prejudices. If you do, please do not tell people that you went to Penn State because I would be ashamed to be associated with you and your intolerant beliefs.
