Police arrested Penn State student Gary P. Burke, 21, at 10:30 p.m. Friday at Pepper Mill Condominiums, 710 S. Atherton St., for simple assault and harassment of his girlfriend, who is also a student, said Cpl. Mark Argiro of the State College Police Department.

Burke was arraigned before District Justice Carmine Prestia and has been placed in Centre County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
