As the afternoon sun gave way to the red-hued evening sky, No. 22 slowly strolled off the field under a sea of fans clamoring for his attention. So much for the revenge factor. Heading into his 25th season as Penn State Women's Volleyball coach, Russ Rose and the rest of his team had many questions that needed to be answered. They might not have admitted they were nervous, but the pressure was certainly on them. In the end, the offensive linemen for Penn State did all right--for now. The 2003 season started the same way last season ended for the Penn State men's soccer team -- in California, with a loss. Penn State expected to see Temple spread the field and air the ball out this past Saturday, giving an early test to the Nittany Lions' secondary. As the final seconds ticked off the clock and Michael Robinson and Austin Scott slid off tackles, Ricky Upton watched from a stationary bike on the Penn State sideline. The prospect of another semester of classes, assignments and exams is enough to make many students feel a little sick. But when students actually do become ill, they have a number of options in the State College area to get their medications. The "freshman 15" or even "freshman 40" is not a myth, but it does not have to be a fact of life for everyone. So here's some advice. -- 15 alternatives to the "freshman 15." "Freshman 15" -- these two words strike fear in the hearts of incoming college students everywhere, but some health experts are suggesting it is actually seniors and graduate students who are gaining those unneeded pounds.
