Letter to the Editor
Stealing small items can have big effects

To the fine upstanding person who stole my 6-year-old's magnets off my car in Shields parking lot after the game, I would like to hear your explanation.

I have heard the minimizing by other folks that "it's just a magnet." But to my child, it was a gift to me.

After spending 14 hours in the stadium to make your game experience safe and enjoyable, you stole from me.

The "value" of the items doesn't matter. You are a thief!

I don't have to worry about payback, I know you'll get yours. No bad deed goes unpunished. Now I have to go explain this to my child.

As much as you'd like to think this is no big deal, you're a thief and that is indeed a big deal.

And please don't say it was because of alcohol, because that would make you a drunken thief; it's no prettier.

The only good thing for you is that I didn't catch you doing it. I would have treated you in the manner you deserved. But I don't have to worry, you're probably a coward as well.
