Despite an overall drop in crime, the prison population both locally and nationally is rising due to stricter sentencing of nonviolent offenders.

The State College Borough Council last night extended an offer for the borough manager position to Thomas J. Fountaine II, who currently serves as the borough manager in Hollidaysburg.

Athletes from 50 states and more than 21 countries flocked to one of three high-intensity summer extravaganzas under the ownership of Camp Woodward.

With summer session coming to a close, the condensed nature of summer classes coupled with a lack of study days can be an added pressure for some students.

The State College Borough Council voted last night to combine the Transportation Commission and the Commission for Pedestrian and Traffic Safety.
