Alumnus finds difficulty in parking on campus

This past weekend I went back to State College to move my belongings out of my apartment.

I went up on Friday night and was planning on returning home on Saturday afternoon.

I returned to a troubling change on the campus of Penn State.

I was driving around trying to find a place to park with my girlfriend driving close behind me.

My first thought was to try the parking lots in South Halls, but they were recently changed to permit parking seven days a week 24 hours a day.

So I tried the parking lot by Pollock Library only to find the same thing.

It seemed the only place to park on a weekend without getting a ticket is all the way up in Lot 80; a far way from downtown.

Not only does it seem like it is the only weekend parking available, more than half of the parking lot is closed due to the ever present construction.

This whole problem frustrated me beyond belief.

After seeing the parking problem on campus for the past five years, I can't imagine why, in Penn State's infinite wisdom, they decided to make most of the parking on campus inaccessible to non-permit parkers every day.

I can just imagine the difficulties I'm going to have when I go back there for a football weekend.

So Mr. Spanier, keep building new buildings and keep watching the parking problems get worse and worse.
