I would like to respond to Sahar Oz's July 28 letter, ("Letter about ISM, King inaccurate, full of lies"). When I said that the fact that Israel was Jewish was incidental I was pointing out that Arabs are not anti-Jewish. Then I hear that the Jews were there 4,000 years ago.
Well, the Jewish Diaspora is just one of thousands of Diasporas all over the world, such as the Trail of Tears right here in the United States.
What makes the Jews so special that they can claim a 4,000 year old lease? To a fundamentalist it makes sense because it says so in the Bible, but to any thinking man/woman, it shows no commonsense whatsoever.
Mr. Oz spoke of the flood of refugees in Arab countries and somehow tried to blame that on the surrounding Arab countries themselves and how the Arabs aren't able to take care of them. The answer is, who could?
There are many with limited funds because they don't receive over $2 billion in federal aid from the U.S.
The root of the problem is Israel, plain and simple.
Also, a flat out lie was said in the letter. The Arabs and Jews have always coexisted from the very beginning. Major Jewish tribes all through history lived peacefully beside their Arab counterparts, working and living, from Saudi Arabia all the way to Afghanistan.
Do some reading.
