NEWS

Despite a very rainy spring, building plans are on schedule for the completion of the Bryce Jordan Tower apartment complex, 461 E. Beaver Ave.

Penn State graphic design students swept the competition at the World Traffic Safety Symposium's Designs for Safety Competition, taking first, second and third place.

This week Penn State will attract about 100,000 visitors for the 37th Annual Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts. And with ongoing construction and limited downtown parking, State College could get congested.

Gas prices seem to have finally stabilized, local gas station employees say.

Although there are many student volunteers at Penn State during the fall and spring semesters, there are still numerous community organizations that need volunteers during the summer.

Students need to act responsibly this weekend

ARTS

After years as a staple of the State College music scene, modern rock band Sona is calling it quits. Its members are separating to pursue other projects.

Bless the Festival, a program created by local churches, peace teams and police as a reaction to the 1998 and 2000 riots during the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, will continue its efforts to keep the peace and provide helpful services during this summer's event.
