The State College Police Department believes pending legislation might increase the number of local arrests for driving under the influence (DUI), but others do not foresee a change in arrest rates if the legislation passes.

If you liked Charlie's Angels, chances are you'll dig its sequel, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. Besides more action, less clothes and Demi Moore, the crime-fighting trio starts right where they left off -- seductively kicking butt in the most impossible ways. Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde succumbed to the inevitable fate of sequels. The question gets asked all the time: Why is today's popular music so bland and uninteresting? It's gotten to the point where older generations are rubbing their noses in our collective manufactured pop face. They say things like, "In my day we had bands like the Beatles and Beach Boys." Beatle fever will take over State College at 5 p.m. Tuesday when the "Cast" of Beatlemania performs as part of the Summer Concert Series in Central Parklet, located on the 200 block of South Fraser Street. Fans of the alternative audible arts shouldn't feel left out during the 37th Annual Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts this year -- but they might have to seek out their sonic satisfaction in a "Roustabout!" way. This weekend will be drama-packed when No Refund Theatre (NRT) puts on two productions. Local punk rock band Giving Chase is finally coming into their own. In the past year the band has solidified its lineup, changed its sound, found a record label and, most importantly, matured as individuals. And all of this will be celebrated at the band's CD release party on July 16 at Crowbar, 420 E. College Ave. Singer/pianist Jason Spiewak may have left Penn State to establish himself in New York City, but his musical history in State College runs deep. For those looking to get out of the crowds this weekend but who would still like a chance to see some local art on display, the destination is the Another Choice X.
