Murder suspect faces preliminary hearing

A preliminary hearing for Robert G. Sealy, of Spring Mills, is scheduled to take place July 30 at Centre County Courthouse, Bellefonte.

Robert Sealy is accused of murder of the first degree and murder of the third degree of his wife, Martha L. Sealy.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Robert Sealy's daughter, Karen Sealy, witnessed her father beating her mother with a closed fist in the front yard of the couple's home on June 12. Karen Sealy allegedly stunned her father with a porcelain jug and locked her mother and herself in a bathroom, where she called 911.

Robert Sealy then allegedly broke a hole through the bathroom door with a rock, gained access to the room and continually attempted to attack Martha and Karen Sealy until police arrived. According to the report, Martha Sealy was still conscious when Karen Sealy exited the bathroom to find help.
