It's a tradition. Every summer there is nothing like relaxing at a show with your buddies. The summer of 2003 looks to be no different, with a multitude of genres and artists being represented in the surrounding areas.
With the mass exodus of college students, it may be a surprise that State College will be receiving some national music acts. But Crowbar, 420 E. College Ave., may offer a reason for students to take the trip to Penn State for some tunes this summer.
Today -- Doors open at 7:30 tonight for a show featuring alternative rockers Third Eye Blind. Tickets for the all-ages show are available through auction on the Ebay Web site (ebay.com) and at the Crowbar.
June 6 -- British hard-rockers, The Yardbirds, which used to boast both Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page in past line-ups.
June 25 -- Pop-punkers Brand New, along with openers Senses Fail, Beautiful Mistake and Breaking Pangaea.
Bob Dylan (opening for The Dead on some dates) -- Classic rock fans may want to catch ol' Mr. Tambourine Man, before his age does.
Aug. 8: Darien Lake Performing Arts Center, Darien Center, N.Y.
Bon Jovi -- If you missed the 80s power ballader and current chart-topper when he hit the Bryce Jordan Center, there's a couple chances to watch the man who's "Wanted Dead or Alive," sometime this summer.

Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Missy Elliot, Busta Rhymes, and Fabolous -- If a half-hour of entertainment was not enough for a fan when 50 Cent rocked the Jordan Center, at least this bill has other artists.

John Mayer/Counting Crows -- This VH-1 double-team of pop-rockers will be singing "Round Here," and there's "No Such Thing" as missing out.

Ozzfest -- Korn, Marilyn Manson, Ozzy Osbourne, and Disturbed will be bringing its sweaty summer mosh pit for a festival that's been "Here to Stay."
